A lot of people will be drawn to this book for its beautiful cover and the celebrity status of the author. But don’t let that fool you because inside you will find loads of recipes that will make you want to get into the kitchen right away. It’s all about good food. Whether you want to feast on comfort food or try out some Thai-inspired noodles, this cookbook has it covered.
I’m hard-pressed to name a favorite, but I was thrilled to find a recipe for grilled eggplant, which helps me get that Asian-inspired taste that I so love at restaurants but struggle to recreate at home. I also loved the simple vegetable noodle dish with cheese. What could be tastier and healthier than that? Plus, it only takes a few minutes to prepare, which is always the sign of a winner in my book. I was also taken with the Spicy Jammy Drummies. Basically, chicken legs with apricot or peach jam added to the sauce. I used apricot because that’s what I had on hand. This recipe had just the right balance of sweet and spicy for me.
So, if you are looking for a cookbook to add to your collection or one to give as a gift, this is definitely one to consider. It’s not only beautiful, it’s also fun and easy to follow. Best of all it’s full of tasty recipes worth making in your home kitchen.
